Athletics

Capitol Hill Day School is part of the ABC League in which Fifth through Eighth Grade students compete against other League teams in fall and winter athletic programs. Member schools include Alexandria Country Day School, Browne Academy, Burgundy Farm Country Day School, Green Hedges School, Merritt Academy, and Gesher Jewish Day School.

Interscholastic sports at Capitol Hill Day School focus on teaching students to have fun while competing in a sportsmanlike manner. Fall sports include coed soccer and the ABC League soccer tournament for Seventh and Eighth Graders, and a coed cross-country meet.
The winter program includes games for separate boys and girls basketball teams, and the ABC League Basketball tournaments for Seventh and Eighth Graders.

In order to play on Capitol Hill Day School teams, students must:
  • Complete and submit academic work on time.
  • Be on time and be prepared in class.
  • Treat teammates, coaches, opponents, and venues with respect.
  • Do their best.
