Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting the Development page of the Capitol Hill Day School website!  We hope that you are here because you understand or are interested in learning more about the vital role of voluntary giving at our independent school.  Capitol Hill Day School raises money through an Annual Fund, an Annual Auction, and the Making a Greater Dent capital campaign.   All of our efforts support the mission of the school which is to provide an education that engages students in the process of learning, with the aim of helping them become thoughtful, caring young people.

Capitol Hill Day School community recognizes and seeks opportunities to take part in the tradition of philanthropy that has sustained the School for the last 41 years.  The foundation of our fundraising efforts is provided by the Annual Fund.  Each year our generous families, alumni and friends make our programs possible by making financial contributions helping to:

•       cover the costs of a CHDS education that are not provided by tuition

•       foster the diversity of our community through financial aid initiatives

•       attract and retain our highly qualified and dynamic faculty

•       maintain and improve our historic home in the century old Dent School Building

The faculty and staff of the Capitol Hill Day School have created an environment with equal parts of warmth and rigor.  Just ask an alumnus/a, parent, grandparent, friend or neighbor: Capitol Hill Day School graduates are great kids, who have the academic and social skills to succeed in high school and beyond.  We hope you will support our unique community by considering a gift to Capitol Hill Day School.

Online / Credit Card

Click here to give online .  Our website donation service accepts Visa and MasterCard. You may also visit the Development Office at 214 South Carolina Avenue SE, or fill out an Annual Fund remittance envelope to make a gift using a credit card.  If you did not receive an envelope this year, please call or write to the Development Office using the following information:

Please make checks payable to Capitol Hill Day School, and mail to the above address.

Securities/Wire Transfers

If you need information please contact the Development office (development@chds.org) for you to provide your broker with the delivery instructions that apply to the type of asset that you wish to transfer to the School.  Please notify the Development Office of an impending transfer.

Combined Federal Campaign - Please read carefully

Please fill out and send in a pledge form with the amount of your gift when giving through the CFC.  The CFC will not notify CHDS of pledges until April 2010.  The CFC sends CHDS one check a month that includes donations from all of our CFC donors, with no indication of who directed the funds and how much should be attributed to each donor.  If you choose to give through the CFC, please indicate in Section D of the CFC form that Capitol Hill Day School should be notified that you are making a gift, and of the amount by filling out your address and checking the box next to the text "Pledge Amount: Check this box to release the amount of your pledge to your designated charities."  Capitol Hill Day School's designation number is 81004.
