Athletic Calendar
The School is part of the ABC League and our upper school children compete in fall, winter, and spring athletic programs against other teams in the League.
The purposes of the athletic program are to teach the students how to compete in a sportsmanlike manner, and to have a good time. Eighth graders are given preference for membership on the teams, regardless of skill level.
The ABC League is comprised of the following schools: Alexandria Country Day School (ACDS), Browne Academy, Burgundy Farm Country Day School, Capitol Hill Day School, Green Hedges School, KIPP DC Key Academy, Merritt Academy, and Gesher Jewish Day School.
The fall athletic program includes coed soccer games and the ABC League soccer tournament for seventh and eighth grades, coed soccer games for fifth and sixth grades, and a coed cross-country meet and championship meet.
The winter athletic program includes girls' basketball games for fifth and sixth grades,
girls' basketball games and the ABC League Basketball tournament for seventh and eighth grades, boys' basketball games for fifth and sixth grades, boys' basketball games and the ABC League basketball tournament for seventh and eighth grades.
The spring athletic program includes coed softball games and the ABC League tournament for seventh and eighth grades.
The School's teams abide by the following rules:
- Academic work must be completed and submitted on time.
- Be on time and be prepared.
- Treat your teammates, coaches, school, and opponents with respect.
- Do your best.
