Annual Giving Volunteers

Annual Giving is the largest fundraising activity at Capitol Hill Day School. Typically, 90-95% of current parents support our School with a gift to Annual Giving. Our Annual Giving Chairs lead a team of volunteers to reach out to parents asking for their participation. Previous fundraising experience is not necessary.

Spring Fundraiser Volunteers

The Capitol Hill Day School Spring Fundraiser is a fun-filled evening of fundraising and community building! Parent volunteers help with all aspects of this event - solicitations, logistics, communications, set up, etc. Whether you can give one hour or twenty, we appreciate your support!

Community Service Committee

Our Community Service Committee organizes projects that take advantage of our School’s adult network to benefit our greater community and provide a positive model for our children. Parent participation is the key to the success of this Committee’s activities. The Community Service Committee meets about four times during the academic year. New members and their ideas are welcome! Please contact your homeroom parent with any questions.

Capitol Hill Day School deeply engages
a diverse community of students
in connecting the classroom to the larger world, supporting each child in developing the confidence, compassion, and intellectual capacity to live a life of purpose and value.

Annual Giving is essential to the health of Capitol Hill Day School. Gifts each year from parents, grandparents, past parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and others help make all that we do here possible. Gifts to Annual Giving support programs like Financial Aid, which provides need-based financial assistance to over 25% of students at the School. After tuition, Annual Giving is our largest source of operational support. Contact Shannon Ryan at 202-386-9881 or

Why should I give?

Because at Capitol Hill Day School and at just about every other quality school across the country, tuition dollars alone don’t cover the full cost of delivering a great education. Annual Giving helps make up the difference.

How much should I give?

That’s entirely up to you. Different families are able to give at different levels. And while what you give is certainly important, it’s just as important that you give. Your participation in Annual Giving sends a powerful message—to prospective families, to the education community, to anyone paying attention—signaling your deep commitment to this great School’s strength and future.
Giving Levels
Head of School Circle — $10,000 and above
Rose Window Circle — $5,000 to $9,999
The Dent Circle — $2,500 to $4,999
The Four-Square Circle — $1,000 to $2,499
Common Threads Circle — $500 to $999
Spiral Circle — $250 to $499
